These are some of the photos that have inspired me for the Lightbox assignment. My goal is to create an Alice in Wonderland themed triptych showing three scenes from the movie. After taking the photo, I will use illustrator to enhance each photo and give it an illustration/fantasy-like aspect. My goal is to contrast the real life human photo again the fantasy driven illustrations.

The Interior of My Passion
This piece represents a lot about who I am, and where most of my creative time is spent. Using illustrator in this way is something I have not done in many years. I learned the techniques in high school on Corel Draw, and it was a wonderful refresher to re-develop my skills on illustrator.
This illustration represents my love for fashion, and creativity, and responds to the assignment as the place where I spend most of my time. While this illustration does not depict everything about my desk, it is where I design on my laptop, draw in my sketchbook, and create pieces of art. This little area of my desk, represents a larger area of my passion, and therefore the piece is entitled "The Interior of My Passion."
In respond to the assignment, I wanted to try various techniques. I included subtle gradients to give a sense of the 3rd dimension, but also kept areas very flat. I wanted to expose both techniques in my piece, and allowed myself to experiment. The polaroids on the cork board are very simple shapes with flat dimensions. I did it this way not for the ease of the shapes, but to give less of an emphasis on detail, and more of an emphasis on shape and dimension.
I added a "piece of me" by adding a mini mannequin wearing an outfit I would wear on any given day. It adds myself to it, without physically adding a photo to the piece.
I really enjoyed working on this piece, and it has inspired me to continue to create illustrations in Illustrator in the near future!
