As I wrap up my 3A term, I just want to say Thank You to Lois for a great class and a great semester! If you happen to have been following this blog, I also say thank you to you for watching my projects form throughout the semester!
I have really enjoyed all of my courses this term, and I am really happy with my overall results. I have started to think more in Fine Arts terms, something I am not used to not being a Fine Arts major. It has been difficult to think like a fine artist and grasp the idea of gaining inspirations from readings and the like, but it has been a great experience nonetheless.
If you are interested in continuing to follow my life in the blogosphere, please feel free to check out my personal blog at blog.victoriastacey.net.
Have a great summer everyone!

The Chaos Sequence
Looking at the idea of order and disorder and order vs chaos, I wanted to take a well know numerical sequence and animate it in a way that disrupts the natural flow of the sequence itself. This helps to create the idea of order and disorder, or order and chaos. As the numbers move around and no longer represent their original purpose, it gives a singular meaning to each number individually, rather than the meaning and mathematical science behind the sequence as a whole. Together they create order, randomized, they create chaos.

Fibonacci Number - A look into the Order and Chaos of a standard system.
When going through the readings and examples, this particular picture caught my eye.
While this image is not the fibonacci number (sequence), it gave me the inspiration to work with it as a system of numbers.
I want to play with the order/chaos of the number system and show how a few tweaks to the system can but it into complete chaos. Due to its mathematical conception, changing around a few numbers makes it completely inaccurate, and doesn't follow the proper system. Using this system to make it almost mechanical, but playing with music and making it almost comical and fun.

Project 3 Definitions
Liminal Space: Comes from the word "Threshold". "These thresholds of waiting and not knowing our "next" are everywhere in life and they are inevitable." - http://inaliminalspace.com/about/what
This idea of life and how it is disrupted in our daily activities and how it is hard to control can be seen in my project through the use of disruptive clips. Its hard to control many things in art, especially in videography. It is interesting to see the many takes you need to do when shooting footage because of the disruptiveness your surroundings and models and actors can take on. I feel as though Liminal Space refers not only to the change in medias we were to focus on in the final product of this assignment, but also in the creation of the project itself.
Immersive: providing information or stimulation for a number of senses, not only sight and sound - http://www.thefreedictionary.com/immersive
I think the idea of using many different sense is interested in the video sense, because our first inclination is sight and sound. At the movie theatre we experience the sight of the film, as well as the sound effects that goes with it, and that's our natural idea towards film. Using multiple sense such as touch, taste and smell as difficult in such a medium, and it is interested to study and examine how they can be used. In my project, I wanted to use texture, a play on touch to create a new dimension that takes the sense one step further.

Artist Statement - Your Fashion Is My Art (Fashion is Art, Art is Fashion)
This piece represents the passion I've had for art and fashion for as long as I can remember. It is very personal to me, the idea of fashion being my art, and how I choose to express my artistic abilities. 90% of the clothing articles featured in this piece are either created, or in some way altered by myself. I wanted to overlay, and contrast different techniques and mediums to bring together both the art of fashion, and the art of design to create a chaotic piece which represents my artistic processes.
I used Adobe Premiere for the second time during this project. I tried to go for a bit of a Green Screen look, shooting the footage on a coloured background and keying out certain parts of the footage to overlay it on different fabric textures. I also used Adobe Flash to create the moving text, as well as the fabric changing effect on the model.
I am very pleased with how the elements work together and how I used fabric, (my medium of choice in most situations) to tie the different clips together.
